Mixer board not working. Please help.

I have a Behringer UB1204 mixer with FX that I hooked up to the line-in jack on the sound card. The thing doesn't do anything when I turn it on. My mike is also screwed up now. Could someone please tell me how to get this working again. I try to move faders, but that has no effect.
